Corvette 1962

This is no ordinary Corvette! Fitted with a new 350ci/350 V8 crate engine (5.7 litre), with Ramjet fuel injection. Power steering (check out the steering wheel, period but much smaller than original). Power Brakes and a 5 speed on the floor. This ‘Vette is an absolute breeze to drive, the 5th gear really makes a difference, 80 mph is just 2000 rpm 3 points and a £100 fine!

The Rev Counter was re-calibrated for the upgraded motor.

This Silver ’62 was prepared perfectly by Corvette Kingdom, THE Corvette Specialists.

The model year car of ’62 did not have the chrome teeth in the grille, nor the chrome trim around the coves. They also had black painted wheels, but I like the red to match the interior. Purists need not be disappointed, I have the original matching numbers 327 ci engine and the wheels could be painted back to black. (Yawn).

We are not ‘Trophy Hunters’, we drive our cars, but it is nice to receive one.

Meanwhile Route 66 beckons……..
